Salvete Omnes!

The faculty meeting for Governor's Latin Academy MMXIII was held on April 20, 2013 (a very auspicious date).  We gathered in the Classics Library of Fox Hall, which will be miraculously transformed into the GLA office at the end of June, to discuss classes, guest speakers, a theme, t-shirts, field trips, and other minutiae.  We also were able to meet briefly with Campus Safety and our campus liaison, Dr. Daugherty.  It was a very productive day and quite lovely.  The Randolph-Macon campus was almost idyllic against a beautifully blue sky and a crisp wind.  Incidentally, we can also highly recommend Homemades by Suzanne (a local deli) when you're here in June.  At the end of the day, we all left with our pre-academy assignments and classes to finalize as the fountain sprayed in the breeze.  This is always an exciting part of academy.  All the pieces are falling together and the shape of the academy begins to materialize, but is not yet fully formed.  We need students for that.
